Evaluation of outcome of ossiculoplasty with and without an intact malleus

<p class="abstract"><strong>Background: </strong>CSOM is commonly encountered in the clinical practice as a cause of conductive hearing loss. Preoperative evaluation becomes mandatory for proper management. Ossiculoplasty usually done loss due to ossicular chain abnormality CSOM. The aim outcome ossiculoplasty with and without an intact malleus.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Methods: </strong>Total 40 patients greater than 18 years mucosal type CSOM good cochlear reserve Eustachian tube function, requiring canal wall mastoidectomy onlywere taken. All cases were planned tympanoplasty or tympanomastoidectomy postoperative follow-up measurement Pure-tone average air-bone gap Outcome Parameter Staging (OOPS) index complications. Simple random sampling technique used calculate size during study.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Results:</strong> was all which 50% (n=20) had malleus no AB both group have almost similar result.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Conclusions:</strong> techniques using neo struts combined assembly prostheses, middle ear reconstruction studied non-significant.</p>
